We are too geeked about Ghanaian indie label, Love April’s new Spring 2013 pre-collection, Oversized Tribalism. Especially after seeing what designer, Nina Barkers-Woode, showed on the Ghana Fashion + Design Week runway last fall.
The new collection is filled with shapes thread tight with awula attitude, cool funk and hi-tech structure. Inspired by androgynous art and vintage women iconography, the collection merges the ancient and futuristic into sharp, clean silhouettes. Shout out to the homies – Afua Asona [model] and Ofoe Amegavie [photographer] and the bright work of Tricia Abena [stylist]. Talk about starting the month off right. We’re really digging April.

Is there a store in Accra that carries these fashions?
